Dong Lechen holds a doctoral degree in performance and is a faculty member and graduate student supervisor of the Fine Arts School of Shandong University. Having graduated from Shandong University and the Tianjin Conservatory of Music, Dong has studied with Professor Zhao Dali, Professor Wang Zhijian, Progessor Tang Xiaoping, and Professor Jang Jae Kyung. Dong has won various prizes including the President Scholarship of Shandong University, the first prize in the professional clarinet division at the Virtuoso International Music Competition (Seoul, South Korea), and the first prize at the North International Music Competition. In 2016, Dong received a full national scholarship from the China Scholarship Council and pursued his doctoral degree at Kookmin University (South Korea). Dong led the recording of the first online course for chamber music in China and launched "Interesting Chamber Music: the History and Masterpieces" on the MOOC platform. Dong has also provided instruction to students and guided them to win prizes, such as the first prize at the Rocky Mountain Woodwind and Brass Competition, second prize at the International Moscow Music Online-Competition, first prize at the Tokyo International Music Competition, first prize at the King's Peak Music Competition, and third prize at the National Clarinet Concerto Competition.
